Cándido is a Buenos-Aires-based artist, braiding juke-like sounds, EBM and cultural critique, with a personal touch of Krishna innocence. After a long carrer as a musician in the hardcore scene, a new time came towards a deep emphasis in live act electronic performance. Many many shows, in between the queer and the techno audience, made 2018 a coming-out year for Cándido as a fully electronica-oriented artist.
In 2019, an intense year in Cándido's production, two EPs and one LP saw the light, in fellow Banlieu and Soil Records. Spleen New Beat and Kilos de Placer, Cándido's EP in VTC are both sexy and dark, expressive and body-oriented music.
"Cándido gets it bob-on with ‘Spleen New Beat’, keeping the pressure all below the belt with dry humping, rictus monotone riffs offset by nagging, kinky percussion and superbly sleazy, shades-on pads that make us want to bruk out the briefcase and ride the Testarossa back to the AB in ’89."

--The Vision of the Artist--

With "Spleen New Beat" I tried to reach out the pale and dim rhythm of late-80s Belgium techno, that I love, through those clutched, muted-sounding fm basses, which I think led me really close to that aesthetic.
